Hello there my Foodie Friend, Happy New Years!

Whether you're at home quarantining making a homecooked meal or calling for some much needed takeout...

I'd like to start this post off with a quote, some 'food for thought' so to speak... no matter your 2020 circumstance, I hope this resonates with you...

"Often great disappointments are actually appointments, leading us to our purpose in God"

- unknown

How beautiful & deep a thought - what IF all that you & me have been through this year has actually been leading us each individually towards our higher purpose in the new year?

While I know 2020 has been a difficult year for all... like so many others, I too lost my job, at the time of writing this post have applied to over 600+ jobs with no offer yet, had to cancel travel plans, move back home & go through the discomfort of not knowing what my future would hold as I struggled to often find hope at the center of all of it...

Yet amidst all the lost, personally speaking only to my story, I truly feel my posh foodie friend, that 2020 was not a year of pain (well it was) but what I mean is, it was actually a year of great awakening - a season of change - leading me towards my purpose to come in 2021!

So who's ready to start the New Year off with me; with a brand new outlook on life!

Let's go! Come on!

Starting off the year, I live in NYC, had a full-time job & had many dreams set for 2020 (sound like a familiar notion to you)?

The moment I lost my job, I kid you not, but I left NYC (April 2020) to stay in CT with my family... only upon packing up to leave, I took with me my Instant Pot, one duffle bag of cloths & my sneakers saying to myself "it's okay, I'll be back in a week"... flash forward to May 2020, a whole month later, I only went back to the city to officially pack up my apartment & pay a severance lease. So much for "going back" - but hey, at least my mood was 'optimistic'!

After leaving the city & suffering the loss of my job, I enrolled in an MBA program (part-time, virtual), as I am proud to announce that since May 2020, I have been working on my Master of Business Administration with two concentrations in; Marketing & Leadership!

Not only did I start my MBA journey, but as you know my fellow posh foodie friend, I started this blog, The Posh Pear & within weeks of starting the adjoining Instagram account (@the.posh.pear), I was gaining a following, building sponsorships & friendships, as my passion for all things wellness flourished!

At the time of writing this post, you're probably saying to yourself, "I love your blog Meghan, so why such a gap between your last review post & this one about 2020/21"?

Great question my posh friend, so let me explain...

When I first started The Posh Pear (the sister blog, to my travel blog; The Platinum Passport), I was excited to start sharing all the health & wellness products, routines & advice, I myself have practiced for years... hence, the idea to start the blog was born out of the notion that I've always been that 'one person' friends, family, etc. come to when they have a fitness or health goal in mind they want to achieve... but don't know where to start, so they come to me :)

After posting several successful recipes/post on Instagram & reviews here on the blog.... towards the end of summer 2020, I woke up one day & decided I needed to take a break from social media.

Yet as one day turned into months, I realized that my extended break was much needed in order to help me re-center my lives focus & daily priorities.

Then one day, similar to the day I decided I needed to take a break, I woke up & realized I was ready... ready to engage in Instagram again, start blogging more & overall, engaging with you my fellow foodie friend!

During that break, I accomplished much that I know will help me to post better content & overall be a better contribution with my words to the wellness society!

So let me share a few of those things with you...

Aside from being an MBA candidate (as mentioned before) but 2020 also lead me to... start The Posh Pear, brainstorm new ideas the write about on my travel blog (The Platinum Passport) related to stay-at-home travel (such new content coming 2021)... I joined a BSF (Bible Study) group which has been personally my most notable & favorite achievement of 2020...

Earned my Advanced Dieting & Meal Planning Certification (to not only better my knowledge, but help you too my foodie friend, as I post more content)...

Cultivated a new 'home workout' routine, fostered & led by my favorite YouTube fitness influencers (to name a few); Lilly Sabri, Natacha Ocean & Cambria Joy...

And last but not least, I learned that amidst all the job hunting (note: at the time of this post I am still searching, so I promise to keep you updated), but I learned that as a result of 2020, one of my greatest gifts is: the power of persistence!

I am determined to achieve my dreams; I know 2021 will bring me a job... I know I will travel again, I know there will be pain (because God never promised a life without pain) but I also know too that He promised He would never leave us - so on that note, that's why I feel confident this New Year will be one of much reward!

Cultivated in the roots of 2020, I don't know about you my posh foodie friend, but who's ready to start new & build that life in 2021!

So in the spirit of much 'newness' here's my Posh Pear promise to you as we enter the New Year together... I, The Posh Pear, promise to accomplish the following in 2021...

Goals:

- Share with you my diet routine updates (via several blog post) pertaining to my journey with the blood type diet & food sensitivity work.

- Complete & officially launch the Perfectly Posh Recipes section here on the blog!

- Post at least 3-times a week on Instagram with new recipes, story updates & of course give myself time to support you on your channel by actively communicating with others in the foodie Instagram community!

- Create more resources here on The Posh Pear to help you along on your own wellness journey... a virtual form of supplementation so to speak... so that you can get the most out of whatever health practice it is that you want to cultivate!

- Actively post more honest product reviews here on the blog (both sponsored & non-sponsored) with honesty (as I always do)... so that you may continue to have a source of trusted health information at your fingertips too!

- BONUS: this would be a personal dream of mine... but I would love, in conjunction with The Platinum Passport, to launch a line of products for all of you who follow me (or future followers) to buy... ie. swag!

A product developer by profession/trade, I am still brain storming what I might like to come up with... sweatshirts, t-shirt, exercise bands, planners, etc... so any idea, please feel free to shoot me an email -thank you so much for your support in advance <3

(ps. my dream dream, is to be a published author someday... so as I continue to work on my writing skills & build my brand, who knows but in 2022 I might come out with a book... so stay tuned)!

On that note my posh pear foodie friend, cheers to the New Year - whether you're reading this on January 1st or December 31st, I want you to know that I am so grateful for your support & honored you've decided to follow me - so as I close this post, filled with much hope for both YOU & ME in the new year, 2021 (& beyond), I leave you with this 'food for thought' as you go off on your way to start a new day...

Food for Thought:

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

- C.S. Lewis

Leaving behind 2020, I invite you to come along with me on a new journey in 2021... which I know will be far better than the latter year, so the question is, are you ready to come with me my love... because I don't know about you, but I'm just getting started, excited for all the things that are ahead!

Cheers,

The Posh Pear
